Bio - Sam Taylor

I am the Bass Player for The Elect. I'm also the bands sound guru, which is how we originally crossed paths. I have been with The Elect for one year now and my anniversary is approaching, which has been an amazing experience with the band and the fan base that continues to grow and support us.

Former bands that I have played with include Bobby Womack, Dennis Edwards of The Temptations, ZZ Hill, Shirley Brown and a few local Midwest bands, Kamaron, Malachi, Satisfaction and Power Play.

My favorite Elect song is “AFTER THIS DAY” but there are many others that I enjoy playing that the crowd seems love and inspires myself and the band to play that really increases our energy level stage to stage – So let's just call all Elect songs favorites!!!

Influences

I was inspired to play the Bass Guitar by a true living legend the “GODFATHER OF THE SLAP BASS” Mr. Larry Graham of “SLY AND THE FAMILY STONE AND GRAND CENTRAL STATION” I was actually fortunate enough to meet my legend in person, which has been one of the many great highlights in my musical career.

Music has always been a major part of my life beginning at a young age. My early influences were my Grandmother and Grandfather, Aunt's and Uncles that allowed me to focus on a creative musical path. Due to these early teachings I have been able to perform all of my life and I will always have a special passion for it.
